The Golf Course at Carmel Valley Ranch

A primary care doctor, Gregory Tapson, MD, leverages more than 20 years of experience to serve patients out of his private practice in Carmel, California. In his free time, Dr. Gregory Tapson enjoys playing golf at Carmel Valley Ranch Golf Course.

Listed among Travel and Leisure's Best US Golf Resorts, the golf course at Carmel Valley Ranch is positioned in the middle of a 500-acre property and characterized by winding peaks and valleys. The championship-caliber course was designed by Pete Dye and recently underwent a multi-million dollar upgrade to restore its original layout in addition to an upgrade of indoor spaces with the installation of flatscreen TVs, fireplaces, and locker room upgrades.

Because of its location, the course is an ideal destination for golf enthusiasts year-round as it has on average of 300 days of sunshine per year. It's also close to the coast, meaning temperatures are relatively cool and comfortable. While the course offers several scenic views, none are more memorable than at holes No. 11 and 13, both of which play down into the valley. Other holes feature natural surroundings such as lavender fields, ponds, vineyards, and oak groves covered in Spanish moss. Players should also keep an eye out for wildlife like deer and wild turkey.
